Hair by Natalie, Celebrates 30 years in business!
At a time when many businesses are struggling with ever-rising energy bills and the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, one hair salon in Bassingbourn is bucking the trend by celebrating 30 years in business.
Hair By Natalie first started to offer professional hair services on 1st November 2001 and celebrated three decades in business earlier this month.
Originally working as a freelance professional stylist in 1992, owner Natalie Smith, went on to teach students at Hertford Regional College.
In 2001, Natalie opened her own base – the salon in Bassingbourn. She stopped freelancing and continued to offer her expertise as a teacher at the college. Shortly after this time, she went on the have her children, Poppy and Jasmyn.
The salon quickly evolved with successful apprenticeships and Natalie continued to teach but on her own premises.
Over the past 30 years, the salon – Natalie has built up a peerless reputation not only for its effortless hair styling and colour expertise, but also as a focal point in the surrounding community.
Ms Smith said it was “incredible” the business had hit the 30-year milestone. “Time goes so quickly,” she said. “I feel privileged and honoured to have evolved the business from a freelance model to the boutique salon it is today. We’ve survived the Covid pandemic and a recession, and we’re now working our way through another! I couldn’t have done it without the continuous support of my lovely staff, clients, and family. Thank you, all. I’m one lucky, grateful lady. Here’s to many more years!”.
