The British Queen
A quaint traditional freehouse pub in the village of Meldreth
Popular with both the local community and visitors from further afield, the pub offers a warm, relaxed atmosphere, homemade food and a well-stocked bar featuring carefully selected wines, spirits, well-kept beers and regularly changing guest ales.
The British Queen prides itself on being a traditional village pub, serving homemade food using locally sourced ingredients. Alan, one of the owners, keeps pigs and lambs which are reared for the menu. Visitors may even spot them enjoying the River Mel and its beautiful surroundings.
The menus are regularly changed to showcase homemade, seasonal dishes, and as everything is cooked to order, the team are more than happy to accommodate individual needs wherever possible.
The pub sits within five acres of beautiful grounds beside the River Mel, The British Queen offers plenty of outdoor space alongside a large tepee with its own private bar, ideal for celebrations and events. Upstairs, a beautiful dining room with an undercover balcony provides another welcoming space for private dining, birthdays, baby showers and special occasions.
