Royston Speak Out Club

Support with communication, activities and outings.

Our Club has flourished in Royston for over 30 years. We are a very happy and active group where, people who have suffered a stroke, can get together, in a social setting, and enjoy sessions of quizzes, arts and crafts and special outings. New members will be very welcome.

Royston Ramblers

Promoting walking by organising led walks.

Monitoring the condition of local rights of way.

You may come on three walks before deciding to join.

Tuesdays and Thursdays morning walks approx. 5 - 6 miles.

Longer walks occasionally on Sundays.

Shorter evening walks from May to the end of August.

Royston Parkinson’s Cafe

Come and join us for a cuppa and a chat. Our friendly group meets on the last Tuesday of the month at 10.30am. New members are welcome, get in touch with Jean for further information.

Parking is available, Tea or coffee and biscuits are provided at a cost of £3.00

Royston Leisure Centre offers a wide range of activities for all ages and abilities.
Facilities include a Technogym fitness suite, 25 metre swimming pool, four court indoor sports hall and a variety of workout classes.

Royston Health Walks
Royston Health Walks is an independent social walking group.
We have a number of different walks every Wednesday all of which start at The Heath Café, Baldock Road, Royston, SG8 5BG.
We have 2 walks at 10am, a leisurely walk over Therfield Heath covering about 1½ miles and a slow/flat walk. Both are opportunities to get a bit of exercise, have a chat and meet new people. The groups come together at the Café for a brew around 11am, please feel free to join us even if it’s just for the brew.
Our Wednesday afternoon walk is a bit more challenging and a little longer (about 2 miles).
From May to September the start time is 5pm but changes to 2pm for the rest of the year. We end up at the Café for a brew.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us regardless of age, level of fitness and in principle state of health, even if it’s only for the refreshments
Royston Health Aid

Health Aid Royston is a registered local charity managed by a board of trustees made up of residents local to the town of Royston.
Our aim is to assist with medical and general health problems where the NHS or Local Authority are unable to help.
If you think we could help you with a problem please email us in the first instance, if we believe we can help we will then send you an application form.

A warm, friendly atmosphere where up to 25 older disabled or housebound can socialise. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am - 1pm.

Royston Cycling Club

Club rides for roughly 2 hours duration, split into groups according to abilities, and covering around 30-35 miles.

RDCT provide an essential service to people in Royston and the surrounding area who are unable to drive themselves or use public transport due to age, frailty, impaired mobility, or do not have the use of a car to get to health appointments, day centres and social trips. We offer low cost door-to-door transport by car and mini-bus and MPV, both of which are adapted to take wheelchairs.

RDCT is a registered charity who rely on funding from local government but also from donations from local businesses and the general public. Please get in touch if you are willing and able to offer support, or if you would like to be a volunteer driver.
