Freemasons Temple Bar Masonic Lodge 1728

What does Freemasons do? Freemasons Lodge was set up in 1878 – masonic fraternity practicing historic ceremonies and traditions. Freemasonry helps to improve oneself and build respect and empathy for others. Offers peer support and moral guidance to its members, and supports local charities, causes & community initiatives.

Who are the key people in the organisation? Matt Humphries; Lodge Membership Officer

Who is the group aim for? Adult males of any background, faith or culture.

Where you are based, when you are open, or when do you meet? Temple Bar Lodge meets for practice and social gatherings every Tuesday evening at the Royal Masonic Hall, 2 Jepps Ln, Royston SG8 9AP

We hold formal masonic meetings 4 times a year and our members have the opportunity to visit and attend social networking events & formal meetings at other lodges across the country.

Tell us about any fundraising?  We select a chosen charity each year to support financially and provide ad-hoc donations to good causes and initiatives in our area. Family events, such as our annual hog roast or charity galas have also raised thousands of pounds for good causes in the past.

Do you have any news of upcoming events? We are an old and established lodge who will soon celebrate its 150th birthday!  We run regular events for our members and their families throughout the year, including formal dinners, Charity Galas, Ladies nights and social outings!

Any other messages that you wish to get across?  “The secret of Masonry, like the secret of life, can be known only by those who seek it, serve it and live it”

How can someone become a member / use your services / get involved?

If you would like to enquire about membership or visit the lodge for an informal chat and tour, please contact the membership officer via the form below

Foxton Men’s Breakfast

Foxton Men's Breakfast is a monthly meeting of gentlemen and their guests (including ladies) who share a cooked English or Continental style breakfast usually on the second Saturday of the month at Foxton Village Hall (08.30 to 10.00 am).

We have a guest speaker who talks for about 30 minutes after which questions and general discussions are encouraged.

Donations are invited to cover costs and contribute to an agreed charity of the speaker's choice. The breakfast is prepared, cooked and washed up by members who take turns to help.

Members come from Foxton and the surrounding villages. Each event is advertised in the local Parish magazines and on posters. It is an opportunity for men of all ages to get together for friendship, companionship, education and give to local and national charities.

It's useful for networking and providing support for those who may need it. It is promoted by the Anglican Four Churches Benefice and Royston Methodist Church.

One of us usually demonstrates an activity for everyone to ‘have a go’ but, if they prefer, people bring their own craft to do while chatting and enjoying a cup of tea.

We meet on the second Monday of the month in Foxton Village Hall Pavilion, from 2-4pm and ask for £2 contribution to cover the costs and the essential tea and cake!  If you would like to join us, please get in touch.

Eden House Day Nursery

At Eden House Day Nursery we have taken elements of the modern day 'curiosity approach' to learning. The whole ethos behind the 'curiosity approach' has had a big impact on the type of setting we offer. Our mission is to provide an environment where your child feels safe, where they are free to explore and where they can have fun! We believe that in creating a homely environment with rich learning opportunities that encourage curiosity and independence, children will thrive.
