Barley Yarn bombing 2022 for Buntingford Food Bank
Nobody should be going Hungry, especially at Christmas
Barley Knitters are at it again! If you are driving through Barley, Barkway and/or Great Chishil throughout December look out for the post boxes !
For the fifth year in a row the post boxes will be decorated with hand knitted festive scenes from snowmen to the nativity to an enormous knitted Christmas tree complete with knitted decorations, outside the Barley Town-house. New for this year is a Big Snowman in Cambridge Road and somewhere there will be a 3 dimensional Reindeer , so be sure to keep your eyes open for that.
Perhaps you could take a selfie with one of the post boxes and post it on social media.
The Barley Knitting group, have managed to meet regularly this year in the Chequers Pub in Barley, and once again want to raise money for charity.
This Year’s charity is the The Buntingford Food Bank. “This year money is tighter than ever. Buntingford foodbank is aiming to keep every family warm and fed over the winter. We are also aiming to give every child a present this Christmas.”
It seems so wrong that in 2022 so many people are dependant on Food Banks, but it is currently a fact of life , please help us to help them.
There will also be a collection pot in Barley Stores and Post Office.
