Established in 1987, The Coombes Community Centre has been at the heart of the local community for almost four decades.
Built to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for residents, the Centre continues to offer facilities that support a wide range of social, welfare, self-help, educational, leisure and sporting activities throughout the day and evening. It has become a vibrant hub where people of all ages can come together to learn, connect and thrive.
We have multiple groups within the centre each week, Little Ruggers /Clubbercise/ ICON Dance/ Little Wiggles/ Caring in Herts/ The Laurels Club for over 60’s and many more groups for all ages. An important addition is Coombes Preschool in the purpose-built Under 5s room, which provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children while supporting families within the local area. Commitment to lifelong learning and community engagement, ensuring that people can benefit from its facilities from their earliest years and beyond.
There are four rooms available for hire at reasonable rates, making the Centre an ideal venue for community groups, meetings, classes, celebrations and private functions. Our facilities include the spacious Main Hall, the versatile Harris Room, the welcoming Coombes Room, and the peaceful Retreat Room. Each space can accommodate a variety of activities and can be hired individually to suit the needs of our users with ample free car parking at the centre.
The Coombes Community Centre is more than just a building—We offer encouragement and practical assistance to anyone wishing to start up new activities for the community. We are proud of our history and look forward to continuing to serve future generations.
