Community News: Prepair for Summer with Royston Repair Cafe

It was another record-breaking Royston Repair Café on Valentine’s Day 2026 with 80% of the 28 items brought in for assessment being fixed.

The triumphant volunteer repair team will be back again at Coombes Community Centre on Saturday 23rd May from 2 – 5pm to see if they can maintain that level of success.

With summer around the corner, it could be a garden tool in your shed that needs sharpening, a bike in the garage that needs a bit of attention before it can go on the road, or a summer outfit that needs a stitch in time – literally!

There are 30 places available for items to be assessed for a free fix. Suitable items are mainly household and garden items – if you can carry it, repairers will probably be able to take a look. Successes back in February included a lawnmower, two sewing machines, and three Christmas decorations.

Advance booking is essential – only one item per person please – from Saturday 2nd May at https://roystonrepaircafemay23.eventbrite.co.uk.
If you are unable to book online, after 2nd May you can phone 07962 157 589 or email leeinroyston@aol.com with make, model and the age of the item if known, and the problem to be fixed.
