Members of the Town Council’s Climate & Biodiversity Group are delighted to invite residents to a special Spring Wildlife Walk at Green Walk Plantation.
The walk will take place at 10.30am on Tuesday 7th April 2026, meeting at the Barkway Road entrance(What3Words: ///snooping.loudness.badly).
This family-friendly event offers a wonderful opportunity for children, parents and nature enthusiasts to explore the plantation’s rich woodland habitat.
Participants will learn how to identify common woodland birds, discover the importance of native trees for wildlife, and gain a deeper appreciation of local biodiversity.
Local wildlife enthusiast Ray Munden will be on hand to help spot and identify birds, sharing his knowledge and passion for the natural world.
Children attending the walk will receive bird spotting tick sheets, making the experience both fun and educational as they record the species they see along the way.
Spring is one of the best times to enjoy woodland wildlife, with birds in full song and trees coming into leaf. The walk promises to be an engaging and informative outing for all ages.
Residents are encouraged to wear suitable footwear and bring binoculars if available.
