Curwens Gallery in Royston is delighted to present their January exhibition featuring main exhibitor Rachael May…
For over three decades, Rachael May devoted her career to nursing – supporting others through moments of vulnerability, strength, and healing. Today, she channels that same sensitivity into her art. Her work is inspired by the wild openness of the coastline, the shifting moods of the sea, and the gentle rhythm of daily dog walks along local Royston paths.
Rachael’s paintings are more than landscapes; they are moments of stillness. Through layered textures, muted tones, and expansive seascapes, her work creates a sanctuary for reflection. Art has become her personal place of peace and restoration, a quiet echo of the care and compassion that shaped her nursing career,
