The Royston branch of Curwens Solicitors recently hosted a Gallery Open Evening, celebrating the GCSE art of King James Academy students. The event was part of the Royston Arts Festival and was attended by Royston’s Mayor, Councillor John Rees. Guests were also treated to musical performances by talented students from the school.
Curwens Art Gallery curator, Claire Fremann, praised the students, saying: “The atmosphere was wonderful, with proud parents and families admiring the artwork and enjoying the performances. Curwens is delighted to showcase the talents of these young artists, and we wish them continued success in their future endeavors.”
Elaine Baigent, Leader of Art at King James Academy, expressed her gratitude: “It’s rewarding to see these talented students have the chance to exhibit their work. We are thankful to Curwens for their ongoing support of local artists.”
Carly Cole, Head of Performing Arts, and specialist music teacher, Annie Watkins, added: ‘We are incredibly grateful to Curwen’s for giving the students this wonderful opportunity to perform in a semi-professional environment. Our students show constant commitment to the Performing Arts and are very proud to see them rise so well to this challenge.”
