Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times. We are there for parents when they need us the most because childhood can’t wait.
Home-Start works with families in communities right across the UK. Starting in the home, our approach is as individual as the people we’re helping. There is no judgment, it is just compassionate, confidential help and expert support.
Last year Home-Start supported 78,900 children in 43,692 families, in communities across the UK.

Join us for our next Home-Start Literary Lunch on Thursday, 12th September, from 12.15-2.15pm at The Old Bull Inn, Royston. Author Wafa Tarnowska will share her inspiring story, *Nour’s Secret Library*. It tells of young Nour and her cousin building a secret underground library in war-torn Syria. This powerful tale, illustrated by Vali Mintzi, contrasts the colourful dreams of children with the stark reality of their city. Wafa’ Tarnowska is an award-winning writer, translator, and storyteller.

Home-Start Quiz Night with Supper
Saturday 28th September, Meldreth Village Hall, 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start. Licensed Bar and raffle, Cash and card payments on the night. £14 per ticket to include an Honest Fig grazing box and a dessert.
