August Update: The Friends of Therfield Heath and Greens
The Friends have a variety of events coming up to involve everyone. We will be at the Royston Kite Festival, alongside the Conservators of the Heath, with fun activities for children. Photographers can improve their technique for capturing beautiful landscapes at an outdoor course on 12th August.
The following day is the monthly litter pick, where volunteers get a free drinks voucher to use at the Heath Café as a reward for their hard work. Artists can still raise funds for the Friends by joining the En Plein Air art session which will be held at Priory Gardens on 16th August. If you are interested in butterflies, there is a butterfly walk on the Heath on 19th August organised by the Herts and Middlesex Butterfly Conservation group. The annual Bat Walk is on the evening of 1st September. Details of all these events can be found on the What’s On page on www.friendsoftherfieldheath.org.uk.
Later on in the year, we are planning another Yoga on the Heath session, following the popularity of our summer solstice yoga evening, and a series of wildlife talks.
Keep a look out for up-to-date details on our website, Facebook and members newsletters.
