Cath Boughton, Founder & Director
The Listing started as an idea back in 2005, whilst I was at home with my youngest daughter. In the days before Facebook, I felt that the community was lacking in timely, accurate information on what was happening in the Royston area.  Mix this gap in with a desire to run my own business ever since I can remember, my customer service and marketing background – and The Listing was born! I love the challenges that publishing in the digital age brings – combining our print publication with our website and social media channels is exciting and means that your content reaches a larger audience across both print and digital platforms. I’m often asked if print is still relevant… the feedback from readers and our advertisers is that truly local, community and business content is still highly valued and relevant in print – and is actually more accessible by arriving directly through letterboxes than across the vastness of the internet, by residents of all ages.
It’s a privilege to be so involved with life in Royston and work with so many local businesses and organisations – they’re at the heart of what we do and make our community what it is! For a small town, we have so much on offer to see, do and experience.
Alongside managing the production of The Listing and future direction of the business, I focus my work efforts now on our sister company, The Listing Marketing Company. on a variety of design, digital and print projects for local businesses.
In my spare time, you’ll likely to find me outdoors in the fresh air – now that my children have grown up and left home, I have such a passion for travel and seeing the world, exploring new cultures and of course enjoying the food. When I’m not away exploring, I love walking, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.
Sharon Windebank, Advertising & Media
I joined The Listing team in October 2013 and specialise in business development and digital marketing, working with local businesses and organisations. You’ll often see me around town at various networking and community-based events, and also every month I’m out delivering The Listing to our local high street businesses; so be sure to say ‘Hi’ if you me!
I really enjoy working with all businesses and organisations and understanding their needs in the community, and here at The Listing I get the opportunity to work and speak to so many different types of industries and organisations in helping them reach their target market, and ensure they are getting the most out of their advertising and marketing, as you can imagine no one day is ever the same.
In my spare time, I enjoy travel and fitness – I’m a member of Royston Runners and am often seen at the 6am FightingFit / CrossFit sessions on the Heath. Both clubs are very supportive and during my time there I get to meet lots of inspirational people and often get to meet a lot of the faces behind our local businesses and organisations. I also like to take photos although I’m not a pro, since losing my dad in 2021 during Covid, through my running and walking I appreciate the sunrise and sets more and all the colours that fill up the sky. Every photo tells a story so I’d always say capture the moment and keep making memories.
Great Ormond Street Hospital is a charity very close to my heart, which is who most of my fundraising is for, I am part of a fundraising team #TeamCerysD and as a team, we have collectively raised over £55k for the charity!
In March 2022 I took part in our Listing – My Local Life you can read more here

Caitlin Boughton, What’s On Co-ordinator and Web Content Manager
I have been part of The Listing team since I was 13 – firstly as a deliverer, and now as the What’s On Co-ordinator and Web Content Manager. I take on this role part-time whilst I’m studying Forensic Psychology at Nottingham Trent University.
It’s been a great way to further my work skills, and has led to opportunities in Nottingham working for a student letting company and also managing the social media for my University’s Cross Fit Society.
In my spare time, I love to be active. I have recently completed a 24-hour cycling challenge for Meningitis Research Foundation, and a fundraising trek to Machu Picchu in Peru, hiking some 80km on the Salkantay Trail. These challenges have raised £4,000 for MRF, and next up is leading the challenge with a group of students to take on the UK Three Peaks in 36 hours.
The Distribution Team
Our distribution team is 30-strong, and covers 17,300 households every month!
Our team is a mix of reliable adults and teenagers who individually cover between 150 and 1,000 households each month. Within five days, The Listing reaches 17,300 letterboxes throughout the SG8 postcode – the only free door-to-door delivery publication in the local area.
Currently, all of our rounds are covered but we have a waiting list of people looking for a round, so if you know someone who would like join the waiting list or be available for temporary cover, please drop us an email. We are always on the look out for good, reliable teenagers (13 years and over), families and retirees who would like to deliver for us.
