Royston Community Association (RCA) is inviting new Trustees to join their team, overseeing the running of Coombes Community Centre and helping to develop it even further.
Located on Burns Road, the Centre has been serving Royston since 1987. Built by North Hertfordshire Council, it is leased to RCA, a registered charity responsible for the Centre’s management, staffing, and maintenance. Today, it is a successful and financially strong enterprise, welcoming between 1,000 and 1,500 people each week for a wide range of social, welfare, and recreational activities. Visitors often praise the Centre as clean, warm, and welcoming.
A small group of Trustees currently guide the Centre, voting on important matters such as major expenditure, and ensuring it remains a valued community asset. As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), Trustees have no financial responsibility should anything go wrong.
This is a part-time voluntary role, involving just a two-hour meeting every other month. RCA hopes new Trustees will come forward and bring their skills, wisdom, and experience to continue shaping one of Royston’s best community facilities.
If you would like to know more about the Centre and the role of a Trustee, contact the staff in the office (open weekdays 9.30am-1.30pm), call 01763 248 081 or email info@coombescommunitycentre.co.uk
