September Update: The Friends of Therfield Heath and Greens

The Friends (FOTH) would like to thank those members who attended our AGM in July, everyone who stopped at our stand at the Kite Festival and those who have attended Friends events.

It is good to know that the Friends charity is appreciated and supported in the work we do.

At the AGM Holly Christie was re-elected as Chairperson for 2023/2024. During 2022/2023, the Friends organised 11 fund raising events, 11 litter picks and took part in two community events. The money raised was granted to the conservators to buy hand tools for the volunteers who help the Heath ranger.

More fundraising events are planned. FOTH are amalgamating with the Royston Wildlife Group from September. The first wildlife lecture will be on Tuesday 26th September in Royston Town Hall. Keith Gypps, an award-winning local wildlife photographer, will talk about “From there to here: A wildlife photographer’s journey”. Further details can be found on the Royston Wildlife Group page of www.friendsoftherfieldheath.org.uk .

By popular request, there will be another Yoga on the Heath session on Friday 22nd September at 6pm. For more details look at the events page on www.yogawithaline.co.uk.

We are also planning an extra En Plein Art Session as part of Creative Royston. The FOTH stand will be at the Sustain-ability event on Saturday 30th September. Visit the stand and find out how the Heath is a “Force of Nature”.

Full information about the Friends can be found at www.friendsoftherfieldheath.org.uk. Future events are listed on the calendar in the What’s On page as well as in the Listing. Read all about previous activities and view photographs on the Past Events and En Plein Air Art pages.
