Royston’s History – Royston Museum – Upcoming April Events

It’s been another busy month at the Museum. We have a busy April ahead of us at the Museum!

We’re starting the month off by exploring what helps to make a house a home in our family activities for the Easter holidays.  We’re open Thursday to Sunday from Friday 29th March to Sunday 14th April with hands-on activities, object handling, crafts, storytelling and a new interactive show! Visit our website for full details of what’s happening each day.

On Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April, we’re celebrating not one, but two anniversaries! On the Saturday, we’re delighted to be hosting the Royston & District Twinning Association as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of twinning between Royston and Großalmerode, Germany. Then, Sunday 28th April is exactly 40 years since the Museum opened in its current home. Everyone is invited to don their party hats and help us celebrate at our Anniversary Fayre. With pop-up exhibitions, hands-on activities and crafts, there’s lots to keep the whole family entertained on both days. We’ll be open 10am to 4pm and entry is free.

Would you like to learn new skills, meet new people and inspire those around you?

We’re looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to help us give visitors a warm welcome. You don’t have to be an expert in local history; training and support will be given and you can learn more as you work with us. If you’re interested, email us at hello@roystonmusuem.org.uk to find out more.
