What a summer!
Thank you to everyone who visited the Museum and trained as secret agents in our summer spy school. Each week we had a range of activities and crafts based around a different skill, including codes breaking, disguises, surveillance and field work. Our secret agent trainees each earnt a special badge on which they could collect a different coloured thread for every week. Well done to everyone who earnt all six!
Last year, we were very grateful to have received funding from North Herts Council to develop a brand new learning offer for schools visiting the Museum.
We now have three exciting new workshops and 8 new loan boxes exploring everything from Prehistoric Royston, to the Victorian High Street, to how our town has changed within living memory. If you’re a teacher, or know someone who is, keep an eye on our social media for a special event at the Museum where you can find out more – or, if you can’t wait, head over to our website.
Coming up at the Museum this September:
- Museum Tots on Wednesday 3rd September is all about farming and the countryside.
- Spark! Art Club for young people aged 11 to 14 continues on Thursday 11th September.
- Discover the artistic works of E.H. Whydale in our next fascinating talk, In Ernest, on Wednesday 17th September.
- Plus, we have a range of workshops, events and exhibitions happening as part of Royston Arts Festival.
