Royston Museum Highlights by Emma: Coming up in December

We have not one, but two ambitious projects reaching their final stages at the Museum!

Our Royston Museum Goes Green project will see us replace our aging boiler with new air source heat pumps and an improved heating system in January.  As well as helping to make the Museum greener for the future, this project will improve collections care and make the building more comfortable for everyone who enjoys our spaces.  We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported this project including all the individual donors, the Friends of Royston Museum, Museum Development South East, Aviva Community Fund and North Herts Council.

Our second project is the redesign of the Museum’s displays to bring more of the history and stories of Royston and the surrounding area to life! We’re incredibly grateful to the Friends of Royston Museum for their funding towards the project, and the Brian Leslie Racher Trust whose funding has enabled us to purchase 7 refurbished display cases which will improve both collections care and visitor enjoyment.

Before we close to install everything, we have some brilliant events and exhibitions for you to enjoy!

• Join Crafted Connections for some drop in festive crafting on Sunday 7th December
• We have a festive Printing Press Demo Day on Sunday 14th December
• We’re running two kids festive printing workshops on Sunday 21st December
• 150 Years Strong – The Story of Royston Town FC exhibition – running during opening hours until Sunday 21st December
