Royston Museum Highlights by Emma: Coming up in February

We’re well under-way with our two exciting developments at the Museum: to install air source heat pumps, and to update the Museum’s displays.

One of our first jobs in January was to empty our display cases and to move them to enable the installation of our new heating system. Once the new heating units are installed, the cases will be moved again as part of our re-display project. We are incredibly grateful to MoveWells for their support with the moves.

Once the display cases are in their final locations, that’s when the exciting work really starts! Sophie and Rhian have been hard at work researching, designing and finessing new object displays and information panels. With the display cases ready to go, their vision will come to life, with reimagined themes, stories and objects about Royston’s past. Plus, we’ll be introducing new hands-on activities for our visitors to enjoy.

You’ll be able to visit the Museum and enjoy our new look from Thursday 19th February.

Our upcoming events include:
February half term – Fabulous Fossils: Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd February, 10am to 4pm
The Great Escapists – Operation Overlord: Friday 27th and Saturday 28th February, plus more dates throughout the year (book online)
