You may remember from last month we were keeping our fingers crossed for blue skies and sunshine for our Summer Fayre. Well, we ended up with a wet day. Thank you to everyone who grabbed their brollies and ventured out to visit us. It was great to see so many people at the Museum.
Our volunteers have been busy. Ben has been working on a temporary exhibition about 1980s computer games, which is now on display in Royston Library. Phil and Lol have been gathering historic photos for use in the family photography workshops we’re running with Royston Photographic Society.
As well as photography, we have a range of hands-on workshops from collage to clay, printmaking to mosaics for children aged 8+ to enjoy. Running on select dates over the summer, each workshop is a great opportunity to get creative and learn something new. They cost £10 per participant, and need to be pre-booked via our website.
But wait! Our summer holiday is jam packed full with even more family fun! We’ll be time travelling through thousands of years of history, visiting a different period from history each week. Every Thursday to Sunday, you can get up close to objects from our past, make fun crafts to take home and much more. Plus, with our Summer Holiday Pass you can enjoy 6 weeks of activities for just £6 per child.
We have a packed September coming up with activities for Heritage Open Days and Royston Arts Festival. Keep an eye on our website for more details.
