Repairing the World – Starting at Home

Repairing the World – Starting at Home

Royston Repair Café volunteers return to the Coombes Community Centre on Saturday 5th February to breathe new life into broken items and support the work of local charity Home-Start Royston, Buntingford and south Cambridgeshire.

Repair Café co-founder Chris Lee explains “We’re passionate about reducing waste through repair – thinking about the next generation. So too are Home-Start who support parents to give their children the b

est start in life. When we heard that the local group were part of a national fundraising day – Love Your Home-Start – we wanted to help. We’re eight years old in February – this is our birthday present to Home-Start!”

On 5th February Royston Repairers will provide free assessments and, where possible, free fixes. Grateful owners are invited to make a donation to support Home-Start.

For the first time, the event will offer tent repairs alongside more common fixes such as bikes, toys, electrical items, tools & furniture. Owners are asked to book in one broken item in advance and they will be given a time slot to arrive.
