Oh yes it is! Pantomime season is here, and once again our local theatre groups are ready to delight audiences of all ages.
With colourful characters, catchy songs and plenty of good-natured audience participation, the annual panto is a cherished tradition that brings our community together. It’s the perfect excuse to gather family and friends to warm up cold January.
Tickets are selling fast for Royston’s town pantomime, Dick Whittington
Drama group CADS has already sold well over half the tickets for its 2026 town pantomime Dick Whittington, with one of the matinee shows now completely sold out!
Director Duncan Moore says, “Despite some earlier uncertainty over the venue, we’re delighted to be able to perform our pantomime for you at King James Academy once again, and really pleased that sales are going so well. This is the second pantomime I’ve directed with CADS and I have to say it’s my favourite. The cast and crew have been working really hard to ensure that this year’s show lives up to the enviable reputation that the Royston Town Pantomime has gained over the years.”
Musical Director Louise Atkins adds, “We’ve got an excellent cast, a brilliant band and some great music, so come and cheer the goodies, boo the baddies and laugh till your sides split in this hilarious new take on the traditional tale!”
The pantomime follows hero Dick Whittington, as he journeys to London with his new friend, Cat, to find his fame and fortune. Instead, he discovers a city overrun by rats and filled with fear. Led by King Rat, the evil rats are plotting to take over the capital. Can Dick, Cat, and his new London friends – Alice, Jack, Fitzwarren and Dame Wilhemina – stop King Rat and save London?
