NEW! Wellbeing: Unique Dememtia Awareness Coffee Mornings

For nearly two decades, I have lived and breathed dementia care – not just as a profession, but as a calling deeply rooted in my heart.

My name is Lauren Patchcott, and I am the founder of Unique Techniques, a movement built on compassion, understanding, and a determination to change the way we view and approach dementia.

My passion for dementia care began 18 years ago, but it grew even stronger after the heartbreaking loss of my best friend and grandmother – my beloved “Grammy.” Two years ago, she passed away due to hospital negligence. That devastating experience set me on a journey and since then, I’ve made it my mission to bring a positive spin to dementia care – to help others see that, while the journey is challenging, it’s also filled with opportunities for connection, love, and understanding. I want to empower families, carers, and communities to come together, share their stories, and support one another.

Dementia is growing rapidly in our society, and it’s more important than ever that we raise awareness and provide comfort for those affected. Through Unique Techniques, I’m offering a fresh, person-centered approach, one that celebrates individuality and dignity, even in the face of decline.

Now, I’m reaching out to you – families, carers, and anyone touched by dementia. I want to hear your story. I want to know how you’re coping, what challenges you face, and what support you wish existed in our community. Together, we can build something meaningful for 2026 and beyond.

If I can help even one person, that’s incredible — but if I can help many, that’s a dream come true. I refuse to give up. Dementia may be powerful, but so should our understanding, compassion & awareness for one another.
