Mindful Living: Festive Mantra
Positive attitude builds a healthier immune system and boosts overall health. Remember, what you think is what your body believes.
Create a mantra for yourself for the festive period, something that resonates with you. Here’s a couple of ideas:
‘Keep it simple and sane’
I love this mantra. Realise that you are enough and what you do is enough, less is more vibes!
I create memories every day’
This is a special time, turning simple things into adventures, walking through town and admiring the twinkly lights, lighting a fire, laughing at a panto or going for wet and windy walks with the family.
Silent nights
Aside from all the wonderful carol singing we need to reduce the noise in our lives. I mean switching off from all the external stimuli; media overload, Christmas crowds, to do lists, people to see and places to go.
Burn some essential oils or your favourite candle, dim the lights, run a hot bubble bath and have an early night. You’ll be grateful for this essential YOU time, and it will give you more energy for… well everything and everyone.
There is a huge amount of power in stillness. These are moments of observation, space, absorption and learning. These are the moments when we get to act rather than react. And all of this creates a feeling of more control in our life, as we move into a place of being proactive, we become open to opportunities and possibilities.
And instead of racing against time, we begin to flow with time…
‘Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.’ Viktor Frankl
