April – the month of bunnies, chocolate, rumblings in the garden and sunshine. Spring is in full bloom, calling us outdoors to embrace its colour, warmth and energy. We can finally open our doors and windows and breath it all in, letting fresh air and new beginnings flow in.
Nature, with its endless cycle of renewal, is our greatest teacher. She shows us resilience – the ability to start over, again and again. When we connect with nature, we tap into this same power, a reminder that every moment is an opportunity to begin anew.
As Mary Kay Ash once said:
“Aerodynamically, the bumblebee shouldn’t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn’t know it, so it goes on flying anyway.”
Like the bumblebee, we, too, are capable of more than we realise. We don’t need all the answers to move forward – we simply begin. This is the essence of meditation, a simple yet profound tool that brings us back to ourselves, allowing us to reset whenever we need to.
A Quick Mindfulness Practice:
• Eyes open or closed, simply listen.
• Notice the sounds nearby, then those further away.
• Observe the layers of life unfolding moment by moment.
• There’s nothing to figure out – just listen, notice, and be.
• Stay with it for a little longer.
• Then, take a deep breath… and begin again
Return to this practice whenever you need a reset by tuning into the sensation of sounds. And if you’d like to explore mindfulness through movement, sound healing and breathwork, join Becky’s yoga classes at Chanting Stork Yoga.
