Mayor’s Community Trust Fund Award Grant and the Community Service Awards

The Royston Annual Town Meeting took place last Thursday, with the Mayor of Royston Cllr Lisa Jayne Adams announcing and presenting the winners of the Mayor’s Community Trust Fund Awards and the Community Service Awards.

The recipients of the Awards and Grants are as follows:

Mayor’s Community Trust Fund Award Grants

Priory Quilters – towards cost of venue hire for their Royston Arts Festival Exhibition in September.

Royston Arts Society –  towards cost of venue hire for their Royston Arts Festival Exhibition in September.

Royston Photographic Society – towards cost of venue hire for their Royston Arts Festival Exhibition in September.

Royston Speak Out Club – towards the cost of their annual Summer outing.

Home Start Royston, Buntingford & South Cambs – towards the cost of their Family Christmas Party.

Community Service Awards

Blake Close Christmas Light Display Team – in recognition of their hard work to create an annual lights display to raise funds for local charities.

Ray Munden – in recognition of his hard work and dedication to the community of Royston, in particular the Royston May Fayre and the Historical Vehicle Show.

Caroll Young – in recognition of her hard work and dedication to organising the Dog Show at the Royston May Fayre for the last 8 years.

The night also saw reports given by the Mayor, Royston First BID, the chairs of the Royston Town Council Committees (incl. Finance, Planning and General Purpose and Highways), District Councillor Ruth Brown, County Councillor Fiona Hill, County Councillor Steve Jarvis and Sgt Lisa Perks of the Hertfordshire Constabulary.

This was followed by questions from electors to Town, District and County Councillors.
