December Update: The Friends of Therfield Heath and Greens

The response to the Friends fundraising charity meal was outstanding and the places were quickly filled. Everyone enjoyed the food, good company and left smiling. Our thanks go to the Thai Rack who hosted the event and provided a good choice of dishes. There is no wildlife talk in December; the next one is on Tuesday 30th January, when Martin Johnson will talk about his journey through the winter landscapes of Japan.

In February we embark on a virtual voyage exploring the wildlife of the Atlantic Islands with Doug Radford.

A Winter Walk across the Heath is planned for January, weather permitting.

The Friends annual quiz will be in early February. Quiz night is always fun, with everyone keen to show off their knowledge and laughing when they don’t. We hope that you will be able to join us.

A Star Gazing evening is planned for March. This will be led by Letchworth and District Astronomical Society and will be a free event. Numbers will be limited and members of FOTH will have priority booking. The date will be announced much nearer the time, as dark starry skies depend on both the phases of the moon and the weather.
