Learn to Play Golf with the Women’s Academy at Royston Golf Club
Is there a more beautiful place to learn to play golf than on Therfield Heath?
Royston Golf Club offers women the opportunity to learn to play golf, make new friends and enjoy Therfield Heath in a new way through its Women’s section and Academy.
Situated on a Site of Special Scientific Interest with magnificent views over the Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire countryside, golf on Therfield Heath offers many benefits; from exercise in the fresh air, learning a new skill, and joining a community of supportive and enthusiast women golfers. Our section has several ladies in their later years, who regularly play the Course keeping themselves in great shape whilst enjoying company and the game… golf is for all!
Royston Women’s Section are a lively and very active group, happy to welcome new members endeavouring to accommodate everyone’s needs. Our Ladies play regularly, some up to 3 to 4 times a week, others when time allows on the weekend.
In the modern game, golf no longer needs to be seen as a full day out with courses allowing shorter rounds of 9 or 12 holes, especially for beginners, as well as the full 18. Academy participants build up from 4 holes to the full 18 over a planned programme of two years, building confidence, community and, at times, resilience!
Royston Golf Club women’s Section is affiliated to Cambs and Hunts Women’s Golf Limited and as a result, has a full diary of both Friendly and County Competitions, at all levels throughout the year with many other clubs in Cambridgeshire. In addition, we have friendly matches and competitions (both home and away) arranged with clubs in other neighbouring Counties, including Saffron Walden, Essendon, Arkley and Cainhoe Woods, in Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. This gives Royston Ladies the opportunity to explore other clubs in the area and, as a relatively small Section, presents many opportunities to partake in these competitions.
Royston Golf Club has a warm and welcoming Club House, which offers food and drink alongside of events or just the enjoyment of coffee or dining with the family or friends.
