Royston Country Market has a long tradition in the town, trading for over 70 years.
They’ve been in Royston Corn Exchange on a Wednesday and Saturday morning, selling fresh produce including homemade cakes, pastries, savouries, jams, chutney and preserves, along with garden vegetables and plants as well as free range eggs. Seasonally, there may even be some local honey available.
The Country Market stall is a non-profit making co-operative of local people, which means all bakers and producers earn funds from their cooking, with Country Markets taking just 10% of the sale price, to cover essential running costs such as rent and electric.
Recently, Market Manager Marian Brewer stepped down after 30 years, and the Market re-opens with a new team in March.
Royston Country Market is urgently looking for new bakers and producers.
