Andy McFadyen of Newlings of Royston has been named National Funeral Director of the Year 2025.
Andy was first nominated for the award back in February, joining a strong category of 30 contenders from across the country. In July, he was delighted to discover he had made the shortlist of just five finalists.
The awards ceremony took place on Saturday 20th September at the Leicester Space Station, bringing together professionals from across the country in a wide range of categories. The event was hosted by John Adams, past president of the National Association of Funeral Directors.
Andy, who was also voted Royston’s Local Hero in 2023, said: “I don’t do this job for awards or any other personal recognition, it’s all about helping local families when they need us most.”
Later that evening, Andy was announced as the winner and proudly received the title of ‘National Funeral Director of the Year 2025’.
