Curwens Gallery in Royston is delighted to present a special December exhibition featuring Sarah Haskell ARPS – A House Falls Out of Use.
Lives lived there have ceased, people move away, people pass on, the building falls into a no-fault state of neglect. it is hard to see the soul of the house beyond the stagnating ephemera. But it is there; light pours through cobweb windows highlighting mementoes of generations, the solid foundations and is ever optimistic of yet more new beginnings as the next chapter unfolds.
I am Sarah, and I am an award-winning photographer based in Hertfordshire. In December 2025 I am very much looking forward to returning to Curwens Community Gallery, to showcase a collection of new images. The ‘Life and Light’ Exhibition is part of an ongoing photo documentary following the resurrection of a one neglected property.
Look forward to seeing you there!
