Curwens Gallery in Royston will showcase the work of Bassingbourn artist Della Dickerson on Saturdays 4th, 11th and 18th October 2025, from 10am to 1pm.
Della first discovered her passion for painting in 2002–03 after an illness led her to join a beginners class at Melbourn College. After several years of study she struck out on her own, developing a style rooted in personal memory, nature, and everyday beauty. Following a break after the loss of her father, Della rediscovered her brushes during Lockdown, bringing fresh energy to her practice.
She works mainly in acrylics, with touches of watercolour, often painting on recycled board, card, and paper. Her subjects include wild meadows, birds, and village scenes, each filled with vibrant colour and sentiment. One special piece features lilies grown from bulbs handed down through her family for over 60 years, linking past and present in living bloom.
The Curwens Gallery is open to the public only on selected Saturdays.
