Community News – August News from Royston Library…

It’s a busy time in the library as we continue with the Summer Reading Challenge which runs until 8th September, helping to keep children’s reading levels up during the long school holiday.

We ask children to read at least 6 books during the summer break, rewarding them with stickers along the way and a certificate, medal and pencil if they complete the challenge. As this year’s theme is Marvellous Makers we will have pop-up Maker Stations with creative activities available each week from junk modelling and LEGO challenges to craft and coding activities.

On 8th August we are hosting a family theatre performance of “Who Wants to be An Olympian”, celebrating our sporting heroes in this fun for all the family show. Our theatre productions sell out quickly so book as soon as you can. Children must be accompanied by an adult, tickets are £7 for adults and children.
