Club News: Royston Photographic Society: Dr Jitka Brynjolffssen

The Royston Photographic Society photographer featured this month is Dr Jitka Brynjolffssen…

Jitka joined the society in 2014 having taken a U3A photography course to develop her skills. This was the point that she began to grow her photography, having photographed family, friends and special moments since her teenage years.

As her range of photography expanded her favourite genrè developed to focus on macro shots, of flowers in particular, still life and wildlife. From what we see on club nights Jitka also has a keen eye for capturing anything her observation picks out as an eye catching moment. Jitka’s photos tend nowadays to be of fleeting moments that coincide with her trips out. She professes not to have the patience to wait for wildlife moments even though her still life shots require great patience to create.

Jitka is a splendid club member, attending club nights and member events regularly, whilst also managing the club’s website and filling the role of programme secretary for several years.

Attached are a few of Jitka’s favourite photos showing her keen eye for detail and an atmospheric picture. Jitka explains that her engagement with the club springs from the challenge to continue developing, provided by competitions, and the encouragement she receives from friends and colleagues which she greatly appreciates.
