Royston Museum – April Update

Monthly Update: From Emma – Museum Curator…

Earlier this year, the Museum was awarded the Environmental Sustainability Award at the Hertfordshire Association of Museums’ annual awards.

We’re thrilled to have been recognised for our work to become a more environmentally conscientious organisation. Three of our volunteers were also recognised as Heritage Heroes for their contributions to the Museum – congratulations, Jomi, Ben and Rene!

We’re hosting our first Young Artist Open Exhibition this summer and are looking for local young people to be part of it!  The exhibition is open to everyone under 18, so whether you’re 5 or 15, this is your opportunity to have your artwork displayed at the Museum. The exhibition will be a celebration of our planet and how we can work together to protect it. Full details on how to take part can be found on our website.

Our upcoming events:
•  Our April Museum Babies and Tots sessions are all about The Romans and during May, we’re exploring dinosaurs!
•  Spark! Our after-school art club for young people aged 11 to 14 continues on Thursday, 10th April
•  Discover Revolting Royston, in our next fascinating talk on Wednesday, 16th April.
• Plus, during the Easter holidays, join us for all the fun of building Lego without the tidy up! We’ve got all the bricks you need to make, create and play at the museum from Saturday 5th to Sunday 20th April.

Full details about our activities and events, including booking information, can be found at: www.roystonmuseum.org.uk/what-s-on
Open: Thursday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm.
